On September 24th, the school opening ceremony was held as well as the military commendation meeting on Dongfanghong and Chengnan campuses. Xiang Fusheng, chief of military training division of Military Region of Hunan province, Wen Maiqiu, the investigator, deputy director of student military office of Hunan province, Wei Xiaochun, senior colonel and commanding officer of National University of Defense Technology, Peng Xiaoqi, Tong Xiaojiao, Liu Zhimin together with other college leaders and school leaders were present. The meetings were held by Mr. Liu Zhimin and Mr. Liu Hongxiang on two campuses.
Before the ceremony, the freshmen sang Army Battle Hymn, Give You A Cartridge, School Song of HNFNU. The enthusiastic chorus demonstrated the energetic spirits of our students. During the playing of the national anthem, we started the ceremony. Together with Chen Zhiwu, the security chief, Dong Shuyan, the military instructor of students, Ms. Tong marched on to the legions from the rostrum. The troops raised their head, squared their shoulders and stood cheerfully under the sun in spite of the heat and waited for inspection of the president.
After the flag-raising ceremony, 60 troops accepted the inspection of Hunan Area Command, senior officer of National University of Defense Technology and school leaders.
At the ceremony, Mr. Peng addressed freshmen in HNFNU.At first,he expressed a very warm welcome to freshmen. At the same time,he briefly introduced the history and the development of our school. Mr. Peng suggested that all the freshmen should set themselves an ambitious goal from now on and make contributions to society. Therefore, he hoped that freshmen should do well the following points .
Firstly, students should aim high and try best to be a person who can make our country better. Secondly, work hard and become a useful person. Thirdly, students are supposed to keep pace with times and dare to be innovative. Last but not least, influencing sentiment and purifying mind is very important for a college student. After Mr. Peng’s address, Mr. Wei started his speech. He was proud of freshmen’s great performance in military training, thanking all leaders and teachers’ support in HNFNU. And the friendship with our school can be for good.
Mr. She –Dean of Literature and Journalism school, Ms. Zou –Vice Secretary of Chengnan Campus, Lan Jiale- student of Marxism School, He Shenghui- student of Chengnan Campus ,Yao Jing- student of Education Science School and Deng Yadang- student of Chengnan Campus gave speeches separately.
Liu Yu(Vice President) and Li Keqin(Vice President)announced excellent students in the military training of two campuses, clean dormitories and the classes who won prizes. Leaders awarded certificates to all the winners.
The ceremony was ended with playing of school song.
