Guo Songtao

Guo Songtao, whose courtesy name was Bochen and literary name was Junxian, was born in Xiangyin, Hunan. He was a diplomatist in the late Qing Dynasty. Guo Songtao was twice appointed the head and a leading lecturer of Chennan Academy in the 1870s and 1880s.[ See page 558 ofCihai(1999 compact edition) for more details.]
