HNFNU Held an Event to Commemorate the 132nd Anniversary of Mao Zedong's Birth

HNFNU held an event to commemorate the 132nd anniversary of Mao Zedong’s birth at the Youth Mao Zedong Bronze Statue Square in the Chengnan Academy on December 26th,  All university leaders, mid-level administrators, and representatives of retired senior leaders attended the commemorative ceremony.

The memorial ceremony officially commenced at 8:58. Luo Chengyi, University Council Chair, and Yu Zuoguo, President, represented the university in presenting floral wreaths to the bronze statue of young Mao Zedong. All present stood solemnly and collectively paid deep three bows to the statue, expressing their profound reverence and remembrance for the great leader.

Luo recalled youth Mao Zedong’s learning and working experience in HNFNU, and summarized the achievements of the university in the 14th Five-Year Plan. He emphasized the faculty and students should remember firmly the “Three Goods” expectations of President Xi Jinping, and to put it into the practice of university building.

At the memorial event, representatives of the teachers and students of the First Affiliated Elementary School performed a poem recitation titled “Qinyuanchun·Changsha”. All the teachers and students then sang the school anthem of Hunan First Normal University together. With immense reverence, they also walked around the bronze statue of Mao Zedong as a young man, gazing upon it in admiration.
