Zou Lei and Zhang Ying Awarded Excellent Narrators of Hunan Province

On the afternoon of November 7th, the final of the First Patriotic Education Contest of Hunan Province was aired in Hunan Broadcasting Station. After a fierce competition, Zou Lei and Zhang Ying, teachers of the Memorial Hall of Mao Zedong and HFNU, separately won the 2nd and 3rd place, and were awarded ‘Excellent Narrators’.

Organized by the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Civil Affairs Department, the Provincial Cultural hall, the Provincial Tourism Development Commission, the Provincial Party History Research Office and the Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, with the theme Passing down Hunan Spirits from Generations to Generations, the competition aims to celebrate the victory of 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, promote the construction and management of patriotic educational base and the educational training of narrators in Hunan province.

After the preliminary and semi-final sessions, 15 of the 72 narrators were selected for the finals.

At the finals, Zou Lei tells a story- ‘Forever in Our Mind-Xu Teli’ and shows "Jiu Er"-the song from Red Sorghum with erhu and dancing. This impresses the audience deeply. Zhang Ying tells another story - Yang Kaihui's A Letter of Trust, and shows "Heroic Biography of Hunan" - one of her own Guan Kou(a term of cross talk ),which is magnificent and inspiring. Their passionate performances win applauses from the judges and the audience.
