Wan Yiping，a professor from Manhattan Ville College of New York in America, was invited to give lecture at our school

On April 15th, invited by Science Education School, Wan Yiping, a professor from Manhattan Ville College of New York in America, gave a lecture at our school.

In the morning, professor Wan discussed with the teachers on the theme “A Comparison between American and Chinese Education”. Mr. Wan compared the differences among teachers’ promotion system, workload, salary and shared with teachers the academic ideas, curriculum setting, selection of books, educational leadership, post job training for teachers and so on.

In the afternoon, Professor Wan delivered an academic lectureGeneral Education and Education Internationalizationin the Video Conference Room. The lecture was hosted by the dean of Education Science, Jiang Rong. Professor Wan discussed the importance of General Education and took the American General Educational course system for example to introduce the requirements of the course. The American General Education courses are clarified into 10 types, aiming at nurturing students’ comprehensive quality and ability. According to the feature of faster internationalized process and more overseas students, Professor Wan clarified the request for bachelor and master about credits, fee and learning time. What’s more, he talked about how the American college recruiters review the international students’ profiles. In the Q&A session, Wan answered lots of questions related to the fairness of education, the ideal education, the construction of teaching team in the countryside and the development of undergraduates.

Professor Wan, tenure professor of Manhattan Ville college , has been the deans of Science Education School of two American state-established colleges. Professor Wan has a good reputation in the field of world's education and won many prizes in teaching, science searching and servicing, including the most excellent professor of Roosevelt University, prize of the excellent servicing in Roosevelt University, prize of the excellent leading in North Florida University and other glorious titles.
