On July 21st, the first farmers' cultural festival of Changlong village was held. Many people are invited to attend the event. The volunteer teams of Foreign Languages School offered many wonderful programs.
It was reported that the first time our school's volunteers started village teaching was in 2013. The volunteers brought the most cutting-edge education ideas to the country. They offer interesting Chinese, mathematics, performance and eloquence, science and life and other courses, as well as calligraphy, art, vocal music, dance and other elective courses. At the same time, the volunteers donate books to children in the county. So far, the number of the books was more than 1000. These books greatly improved children's reading situation.
In addition, the "going to the countryside” social practice team of Foreign Language School started a night school which was to help villagers to study knowledges at night. They taught them courses on the party, rural tourism, square dance and so on. Four years of fixed-point teaching, field observation and survey the state of the union, national policies and laws and regulations to preach, we brought a lot of new changes to the village. Children began to read more extra-curricular books instead of watching TV, and the villagers liked to learn singing and dancing and other cultural activities rather than gamble.
One of the villagers made positive comments on our work. He said:" We expect you coming every summer. Last year, the students with your help, won a prize in writing. And you teach the villagers square dance, also won second prize in Ningxiang. We like you very much. "
Our social practice team , this time, got a big support of leaders at all levels both in Ningxiang and our school. They also received a warm welcome from the children and their parents. We believe that this excellent team will make a positive contribution in the fundamental education in Ningxiang.
