Women Script: Enigmatic Design Exhibition

On the morning of May 7^th, the exhibition of "Female Characters of Modern design" was opened at the exhibitions hall of the Arts and Design School, President Tong Xiaojiao, Vice-President Jiang Zhengyun and some leaders also attended the opening. (Because the characters have long strokes, Female Characters is known as "mosquito with long feet" and is a special characters for women in the world. It is a syllable of Chinese dialects and prevails in Shanjiangwei Town, Yongzhou, Hunan Province)

At the opening ceremony, Fan Yingchun, the Dean of the Arts and Design School, introduced a general situation about the exhibition. She gave an objective evaluation that professor Zhang Xian studied the culture of Female Characters through Fine Arts and Design Science, broke a new ground on it, and played an important role in promoting the inheritance of design art and national culture. It displayed 38 graduation works from 2014 graduates majoring in Visual Communication Design. The exhibition will last until May 9^th.

After visiting the exhibition, Tong gave a high praise to it and to the exploration of the school combining scientific research achievements with practical teaching. She hoped that they could break the barriers between subject research, teaching practice and industrial development, and production-teaching-research work will firmly integrate with talent training so as to form a distinctive training model for innovative talents.

Jiang also expressed highly appreciation to the innovation and artistic value of the exhibition. He also suggested that this exhibition was an expression of a great move, which paid equal attention to subject research and education, and it was a touchstone of research achievements of the school in teaching practice too. He also showed expectations that it will be a good start the Art and Design School will be able to work harder in scientific research and teaching to create a brilliant future.
